CREEK 31 Kingwood 0
Creek Wildcats defeated Kingwood Friday Night in Kingwwood. The Wildcat team played a great game on both sides of the ball. C.J McElroy, Dion Lewis and Chris Boo" Collins all scored touchdowns. Tanner Graeber was good on all extra point attempts and added a field goal to close out the scoring. Defensively the Wildcats defense stymied the Mustang ground attack with lots of gang tackling and hard hits. Special teams once again recovered a kickoff for the Wildcats.
Special Thanks go out to CLUB ADRENALIN for making the long trek to Kingwood. Thanks for the LOUD Support and SPIRIT. Keep up the good work
• RECAP: For the second straight week, the Wildcats ran right past their opponent. Creek totaled 376 yards, including 321 on the ground. All four touchdowns came on big plays from 28 yards or more. The Creek defense also was great, recording the shutout and permitting just 118 yards to Kingwood. That bodes well for the Wildcats (2-0), which struggled against the run a season ago and will face a slew of option offenses just like Kingwood.
• TURNING POINT: Creek was leading 14-0 and got the ball with just more than a minute to go in the first half. The Wildcats looked content to go into the locker room with a two-touchdown lead until C.J. McElroy busted a 62-yard run. The play put Creek up 21-0 at halftime and essentially sealed the game against a rather inept Kingwood offense.
• STARS: McElroy, once again, showed why he’s one of the top playmakers in the area. It almost seems like he’s in a video game. McElroy rushed for 153 yards on just seven attempts (21.9 yards a carry). He scored twice. Tevin Jones caught four passes for 42 yards, Dion Lewis had a 48-yard run for a touchdown, and Chris Collins added a 38-yard run for a touchdown.
